Odegaard On Track to Return in November
Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard, is nearing a return to the pitch after being sidelined for over six weeks due to an ankle injury he sustained while playing for Norway in September.
The 25-year-old midfielder is currently in the final stages of his recovery and hopes to rejoin Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the Gunners’ crucial fixtures against Newcastle, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
Odegaard’s absence has been felt both at Arsenal and internationally, as he missed Norway’s recent Nations League matches against Slovenia and Austria.
However, Norway manager, Stale Solbakken, is optimistic about the star player’s availability for their upcoming matches against Slovenia and Kazakhstan in mid-November, expressing a “legitimate hope” that he will be ready in time.
The Arsenal star himself has provided updates on his progress, noting that his recovery has been steady, with occasional setbacks typical of ankle injuries. He has been focusing on fitness work in the gym and recently began running again using an anti-gravity treadmill.
Odegaard is expected to miss Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool this Sunday, 27 October, but has a “good feeling” that he will be fully fit soon.
